Featuring retro-modern looks, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny gets 2WD-high, 4WD-high and 4WD-low range gearbox. Built on the ladder-frame chassis, the SUV has an approach angle of 36 degrees, a departure angle of 47 degrees and a ramp breakover angle of 24 degrees. The list of features includes LED auto headlamps with washers, a rear wiper, tinted green UV-cut glasses, cruise control, six airbags, ESP, Hill Hold/descent control and traction control.

Despite being a feature-rich SUV, the Jimny doesn’t offer a bulky off-road presence as its rival, Mahindra Thar. Moreover, the SUV is not available in a soft-top convertible option and misses out on features like a sunroof, auto wipers, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, auto-dimming IRVM and a driver’s seat height & lumbar adjustment.

Hyundai Verna is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, generating 156 hp power, making it the most powerful sedan in its segment. It is mated with a DCT unit. The sedan sports a long list of features, such as ventilated seats, an electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, wireless charging, a sunroof, a rear sunshade, and more. For safety, the 2023 Verna gets six airbags and Level 2 ADAS features.

The futuristic styling of the Verna has incited polarized opinions. It is not available in a diesel engine option. Additionally, the sedan misses out on a host of features its competitors are offering, such as auto wipers, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 360-degree camera.

The MG Comet is an affordable EV, with prices starting at Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. Powered by a 17.3 kWh battery, the Comet EV offers an ARAI-certified range of 230 km on a single charge. Inside the cabin, the EV gets a dual 10.25-inch screen setup, including a touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. Other impressive features include keyless entry, reverse parking camera with sensors and split-folding rear seat.

No AC or DC fast charging options are available with the MG Comet EV. It can be charged from 10-80 percent in around 5 hours at home. The EV gets zero boot space with all seats up. To carry luggage, people have to fold the rear seats. Moreover, it misses out on features, such as seat height adjustment, rear washer and wiper and a spare wheel.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx gets a 1.0L Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine and smart hybrid system, offering an ARAI-certified mileage of up to 22.89 kmpl. In terms of features, the Fronx gets cruise control, a 9-inch touchscreen paired with an Arkamys sound system, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, wireless charging, rear AC vents, footwell lighting, tilt & telescopic steering adjustment and connected car features. Safety features include six airbags, ESP, traction control and more.

The Fronx compact SUV doesn’t receive a sunroof like its rival, Hyundai Exter. Additionally, it is not available in the diesel engine option and misses features, namely TPMS, drive modes, front parking sensors, auto wipers and rear armrest.

The Hyundai Exter has a boot space of 391 litres, one of the largest in the compact-SUV segment. It comes loaded with features, such as a sunroof, a dashcam with dual camera, paddle shifters, wireless charger, six airbags, multi-lingual voice commands and rear AC vents. Other notable features include ABS, EBD, ESC, VSM, Hill Hold Assist and rear parking sensors.

The Exter doesn’t get a turbo-petrol and diesel engine option. Additionally, the micro SUV misses out on features, such as a rear centre armrest, fog lamps, auto-dimming IRVMs and a 6-speaker sound system (offered in Fronx).
