The Mahindra Thar electric concept SUV features a futuristic and different design as compared to the ICE Thar. The electric SUV gets squarish LED headlamps with rounded-off corners.

It gets a glossy black upright nose with a steel front bumper which gives it a rugged look and It alps gets THAR.e lettering on the closed-off grille.

At the rear, the Mahindra Thar.e gets a spare wheel on the tailgate and squarish LED tail lamps. The rear design looks like it has taken inspiration from the Land Rover Defender.

Moving on to the side, the Thar.e looks gets an extra set of doors and gets large aerodynamically designed alloy wheels with squared-out wheel arches.

Mahindra also revealed the interior of the concept Thar.e. It gets a minimalistic dashboard design, featuring a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display, and a new steering wheel.

The Thar.e will get a water hose inside that can clean the cabin entirely after off-roading.

Mahindra also revealed that the Thar.e will have 75 sounds right from opening the door to different drive modes, all being developed by Indian musical composer, A R Rahman.

The company did not reveal any information about the battery or the electric powertrain. We expect the Thar.e to feature a bigger battery pack which will have a claimed range of up to 450 Km on one full charge.

The EV SUV is also expected to get twin electric motors which will send power to all four wheels making it a 4WD SUV. Power outputs are expected to be more than 200 hp and 450 Nm.

The company did not mention any details of the launch timeline for the Thar.e. As the new electric vehicle plant will start operations by March 2024, we expect the Thar.e to be launched by 2025.

The company also revealed that the upcoming electric SUVs from Mahindra will feature a white infinity logo instead of the bronze twin-peaks logo that is currently being used on the XUV400.
